Icing Fan Error — Ice Compartment BLDC Fan Motor Abnormality
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: IF E
What This Means
No feedback signal from BLDC icing fan for 65+ seconds during operation; Faulty BLDC motor connection; Faulty DRIVE IC or transistor; Fan blade physically obstructed
How to Fix
- 1
Reset the unit and enter Test Mode 1 (press test button 1 time).
- 2
Open freezer door and check for air flow from icing fan. If there is airflow, proceed to step 4.
- 3
If no airflow: rotate fan by hand. If it feels sticky/stiff, replace the fan motor.
- 4
Check fan motor power voltage at CON7 3rd pin to 5th pin. Should be 12V in Test Mode 1. If NOT 12V, replace Main PCB.
- 5
Check fan control signal voltage at CON7 7th pin to 5th pin. Should be between 0V and 5V. If not in range, replace Main PCB.
- 6
Check fan feedback voltage at CON7 18th pin to 5th pin. Should be between 0V and 5V. If not in range, replace fan motor.
- 7
If all voltages are correct and airflow is normal, explain normal operation to customer.
